Bio
Bethany Robbins, nee Bethany Hilliard, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the early eighties. The middle child of three, she spent her time playing with Barbie??s, Care Bears and Rainbow Brite. At the early age of fourteen, she discovered the theater through a local community theatre. During high school, she performed in the chorus in musicals such as The Music Man, Annie Get Your Gun, Oliver! and The Wizard of Oz. Not to be deterred to have a speaking role, she moved to Erie, Pennsylvania and studied Theatre at Gannon University.
Some would say that attending a small university would hinder growth as an actor but it did just the opposite for Bethany. At Gannon, she regularly performed on the main stage the entire four years she attended the school. There she performed in shows ranging from Shakespeare ("Much Ado About Nothing") to Christopher Durang ("The Nature and Purpose of the Universe"). Personally, Bethany's favorite production was "Hair" because this is where she met her future husband.
Also during this time, she had the privilege of spending the summer as an acting apprentice at the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival (now The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey). As a wide-eyed eighteen year-old, she learned so much in this eleven-week period studying costuming, set design, lighting, and (most importantly) acting. During this summer, she performed in scenes from plays such as, "This is Our Youth," "No Exit," and "Two Gentlemen of Verona," among others.
From college, Bethany needed a break from acting. She enrolled in the Master of Arts Management program at Carnegie Mellon University. During the two years, she worked hard and learned about all aspects of running a nonprofit theatre but she missed acting. Upon graduation, she and her future husband moved across the United States to Los Angeles to pursue her passion... acting.
Currently, Bethany is studying improv at iOWest and performing with her group, Jealous...?. Even though, she wants to focus working on film and television, theatre is always close to her heart. She is always willing to work on a theatrical production to keep her skills sharp.
Bethany is currently seeking theatrical and commercial representation.
